PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The E-S1102 Estate Swing Dual Gate Opener is easy to install and meets the highest standards in safety. Every unit comes with everything needed for installation, including most hardware. In addition to Estate Swing's attention to practicality, the manufacturer adheres to the highest safest standards. To begin with, the manufacturer meets or exceeds ISO 9000 regulations, which require testing on 100% of all products being produced in a single factory, and all the parts of Estate Swing systems are made in one factory. Likewise, the E-S1102 Estate Swing is certified for and exceeds UL 325 standards for anti-crushing safety. The diligent observation of safety standards assures that this model not only meets safety requirements, but also offers a high quality product.
The E-S1102 Estate Swing also offers ease of operation. The low voltage system eliminates the need to run 110 AC to the gate; a 16-guage two-conductor stranded low voltage wire that plugs into a household outlet within 1000’ of the operator is sufficient. For those users who are eco-conscientious, or economically mindful, the system can be solar powered with the purchase of solar panels. Another feature that provides multiple options for the user is the adjustable post mounting brackets, which are designed to adjust to nearly any sized post. Also convenient is the user-driven updateable manual for continuous improvement of installation ease, maintenance, and trouble shooting updates.
ORDERING CONSIDERATIONS:
Before installing this opener, be sure that it is free of obstruction, structurally sound, and swings level. If all these criteria are fulfilled, the gate is ready to automate. It is also prudent to check with the gate's manufacturer to ensure that the gate is ready to automate. Because this gate opener has a 4"x4" setback, consult the manual or check with one of our technicians before mounting to a column or large post to be sure it will function properly. Upon receipt of the product, allow the battery to trickle charge for at least 48 hours to ensure a successful start to the automation of the vinyl gate.

TECHNICAL AND OPERATIONAL FEATURES
- One Touch EZ Programming - The control board learns the open and closing limits automatically, so there is no need for time-consuming guesstimates and manual adjustments. Simply place a permanent physical stop (a post or bracket with which the gate comes into contact at the stop point) in the closed position.
- Soft Start/Soft Stop - This feature eases the wear and tear on the gate. During a normal cycle, the opener automatically slows the motion of the gate near the stop points so the gate closes smoothly and with minimal impact.
- Control Board, Easy Read Diagnostics
- FAAC has included an LED light diagnostic on the control board for easy diagnostics of problems or missing connections. This allows efficient repair and swift continuation of normal gate operation.
- Adjustable Performance Features
- Adjust such features as Pause times, Opening/Closing Delays, Static Force, and much more. This means the unit's functions are customizable to the customer's lifestyle.
- Preset Gate Function Logics
- Preset multiple features at once so that they can be changed later at the touch of a single button.
- Quick Plug Radio Receiver
- The remote receiver is easy to use and the design means there are no wires to run; just set the dip switch combination and plug it into the board. It also has a Deliberate Attempt function, meaning that the button must be held for a second and anything less will not be acknowledged. This means that there is little chance of reversing the gate accidently on a vehicle or pedestrian. The system works on 318Mhz, a common frequency, so other remotes may also be compatible, including those made by HomeLink, the leading maker of the universal remote system built into automobiles.
- 12 Volt Output Terminals
- For convenient addition of accessories requiring power like locks, sensors, and more.
- Quick, Safe and Secure Manual Release
- Every unit comes with a manual release key that can be used should the power fail and the backup battery is not charged. This ensures that the gate can be opened without damaging or disconnecting any components.
- Highest Level of Safety
- In addition to meeting or exceeding many safety standards, this model's safety devices function on a normally closed circuit. This means that if a safety device does not activate for any reason, the opener will not operate, keeping loved ones and assets safe. Most other openers function on a normally open circuit, which means the consumer does not know the safety device is not working properly until it is too late.
- Advanced Gear System
- The advanced gear system is essential to the durability and power of the gate opener. The design of this motor enhances reliability and control, and cuts down on overall wear and tear on the motor. The planetary gear system uses the most number of gears in a gear system, and the more gears, the higher the amplification of the power of the motor.
- All Weather Compatible - The arm is able to withstand the extremes of weather and outdoor use. The bottom of the housing is also fitted with dust blocking strip to prevent dirt from entering the housing and affecting the sensitive components.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Why use an Estate Swing for my vinyl gate instead of any other gate opener?
This series of Estate Swing openers is specifically designed for smaller light weight gates. Other gate openers try to accommodate many different sizes and styles. As a result, they provide too much torque for vinyl gates and could destroy a vinyl gate. Vinyl gates have simply not been properly addressed by any other manufacturer. Because Estate Swing is made by the world's largest gate opener manufacturer, they have dozens of lines that are more specialized. By designing gate openers that function for a specific niche, rather than general purposes, the Estate Swing manufacturer ensures that their gate openers really are appropriate for customers' needs.
Can I use my garage door remotes with the gate opener? There are many ways to program both systems to work off one remote. One means would be to use an Estate Swing universal receiver combined with dual button Estate Swing remotes. The other option would be to order a universal receiver for the Estate Swing that matches up with the garage door. On top of that, the new Estate Swing Vinyl Gate Opener is Homelink compatible.
How quickly will my gate open?
Estate Swing is one of the few gate openers with adjustable speeds! Proper mounting also affects speed, but in general, the range of speed is from1 foot of the arch of the gate per half second to 1 foot of the arch of the gate per 2 seconds. The arch of the gate would be the distance the gate travels across the driveway from the end of the gate in the closed position to the end of the gate in the open position. To figure out the arch, all that's needed is the gate length (L) and the angle (A) to which the gate opens. Using the following formulas, it is easy to figure out the arch length. First, it is necessary to figure the circumference (C). C=3.14(L*2). So, if the gate is 10', C=62.8'. Then it is possible to figure out the arch. Arch=(C/360)A. So, if the gate opens to 80 degrees and is 10', Arch=13.95'.
When would my vinyl gate need to be reinforced?
Most vinyl gate manufacturers install some type of rigid frame inside vinyl gates. This is ideal for automation and for a long lasting gate in general since it can handle more wear and tear than a fence. If this has not been done, it is important reinforce the junctions and where the brackets are attached before automating the gate.
What happens when my gate is opening or closing and something is in the way?
The Estate Swing comes with adjustable obstruction sensing, so if the gate makes contact with an object, it will change directions after a certain amount of resistance. To prevent the kind of wear and tear that this type of obstruction sensing may produce, equip the gate with photo eyes - the photo eyes can prevent the gate from ever coming in contact with an object.
My gate is mounted to brick columns; can this gate opener work?
It all depends on the distance from the hinges of the gate to the back of the column. If the distance is 2" or under, then the E-S 100 is ideal. From 2" to 8", use the ES-C 1102 gate opener. If the gate cannot swing away from the property and the distance is over 8", then please call 1-800-537-4283 for a solution.
Do I need the battery and how long does it last?
The system runs off the provided battery, not the transformer. The transformer is only there to charge the battery. There is about a 3-5 year life expectancy on the battery, depending on temperatures and usage.
Can anyone push my gate open with the gate opener on it?
No, no one will be able to push the gate open; however, the gate opener is a device of convenience, not security so someone could possibly break something with enough force on the arm. If security is a concern, please get an Estate Swing gate lock.
How does the auto close feature work, and can I leave the gate open sometimes and have it auto close others?
The auto close feature is a variable on the control board that can be activated and set to a timer. The gate will pause after reaching the open position before starting to re-close. If that feature is desired most of the time, but the gate needs to be left open on weekends or for a party, it is possible to set up a toggle switch on a safety circuit; then when the gate is triggered to open, it will flip the toggle switch once it's open, and the gate will stay there until the toggle switch is flipped back off.
Can I use solar power to power my gate?
Yes, you can. Just find your state on our solar chart and the number of cycles the gate will be performing a day, and purchase the appropriate Estate Swing Solar Panel.
For what is the internal positive stop used?
The optional internal positive stops are an alternative to stops on an adjacent post or on the driveway. The Estate Swing motor arms were designed to have as few parts as possible to cut down on maintenance and errors in operation. In creating this design, Estate Swing has designed a highly intelligent control board that counts the revolutions of the motors to determine where to slow down and stop in the open position. However, to keep this count accurate, the system must have a point that won’t change from which to begin counting revolutions. Estate Swing has done this by having the opener make contact in the closed position with a stop plate or internal positive stops. Counting both open and closed would not be an option because interruptions during either part of the cycle could alter how far the gate moves per revolution. Without a fixed point to return to, the gate would not be able to correct any interruptions in the cycle.
Can I put my control box in my garage?
No, the system is designed to have a small control box to be installed out by the gate opener. The wire on the back of the gate opener cannot be lengthened or shortened, so the control box cannot be moved to a distant location.
What kind of maintenance is involved?
The arm is self lubricating so the gate opener has no maintenance needed. However, it is important to regularly grease the gate hinges and check the gate is still level.
What is not covered in the warranty?
Estate Swings have one of the longest warranties in the industry, but there certain situations that are beyond the manufacturer's control. Situations that are out of our control include, but are not limited to, acts of vandalism, acts of nature, user error, and power surges. It is best to protect the gate opener with surge suppressors, a gate lock and photo eyes. Two parts of note that are not covered under warranty are the transformer and the front mount bolt. The transformer is designed to self-sacrifice to try to spare the control board from a power surge. This is not a guaranteed preventative measure, however, since surges still may get through and destroy both. The front mount bolt is designed to be an inexpensive, easy to replace piece that breaks under force to protect the other parts on the motor arm from the strain of such a force. QB ID: X
